ANTHONY BALE is Senior Lecturer in Medieval Studies at Birkbeck, University of London, UK MATTHEW BIRCHWOOD is Lecturer in English Literature at Kingston University, London, UK JERRY BROTTON is Professor of Renaissance Studies at Queen Mary, University of London, UK PALMIRA BRUMMETT is Professor of History and Distinguished Professor of Humanities at the University of Tennessee, USA ELIANE GLASER is an honorary research fellow at Birkbeck College, London, UK RAPHAEL HALLETT is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of History at the University of Leeds, UK COLIN IMBER is retired and was until 2005 a Reader in Turkish in the University of Manchester, UK GERALD MACLEAN is currently Professor of English at the University of Exeter, UK
