The classic guide to the sport of hook and line!
Written by celebrated journalist Colin Willock, and featuring beautiful photography and 85 full-color illustrations by Eric Tenney, The ABC of Fishing gives a thoroughly delightful perspective on the art of angling. In short, this edition gives you detailed information about every type of fish likely to be found in British waters, and, of course, advice on how to catch them. The various sections cover coarse fishing, game fishing, and sea fishing, along with instruction on how to use all of the equipment that goes along with the process. Easy to use and a pleasure to read, this volume will prove invaluable to the beginner and expert angler alike.

Colour plates of fish and b/w line illustrations by Eric Tenney, illustrated end-papers. Red cloth, spine titled in gilt. Front board slightly stained else very good in price-clipped dust-wrapper. A species-by-species description of angling methods in sea and freshwater, with good colour paintings of fish species. Contributions from Harry Brotherton, Derek Fletcher, Clive Gammon, F.W. Holiday, William Howes, S. Norton-Bracy, Raymond Perrett and Harvey Torbett. This edition, published in June 1969, is called by the publisher the de luxe edition. It is, however, difficult to see in what way it would be considered de luxe. Also, a misprint on the title-page incorrectly implies that Eric Tenney was the author rather than the illustrator. .
