Synopsis

Written for a theater existing in the reader's mind, Mr Jerome's inventive modern verse drama asks the reader to be imaginative also - to accept new modes of perception. A sequence of autobiographical essays is interwoven with the author's four verse plays, exploring the reality from which the plays emerge. A naive young man's reactions to the overly sophisticated parents of his fiancee are the basis of Drums, a drawing-room comedy. The Glass Mountain is a comic one-act play based on the fairy tale of the same name.
