Gossage dazzled the advertising world in the 1960s and 1970s with an irrepressible wit and an irreverent attitude toward his own profession. He founded a small advertising agency in San Francisco where he produced a series of memorable campaigns, notably Irish whiskey and Eagle Shirtmakers. This book is a collection of speeches and articles by Gossage over the years. They are most entertaining, but would have benefited from more strenuous editing. Gossage is intriguing and amusing, but he does go on. Recommended for large collections. Joseph E. O'Connor, M.L.S., Beaufort, S.C.
