This book is a study of the Roseto, PA, probably the most homogeneous ethnic enclave in the nation. Mrs. Bianco has made a close study of the Rosetan folkways, comparing them to her finding in other Italian-American settlements and in the Italian Roseto. She examines all forms of oral tradition, from emigration songs to older ballads and from personal historical accounts to proverbs, letters, messages, and folktales.
