Art of the American West is timed to coincide with the opening of a new expansion to the Tacoma Art Museum, brilliantly designed to house these artworks and to connect with and contribute to the city’s culture and history. Lavishly illustrated, the book also includes insightful essays written by some of the most important scholars working with this material today. About the Author
Laura F. Fry is the first Haub Curator of Western American Art at the Tacoma Art Museum. Peter H. Hassrick is director emeritus and senior scholar of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Scott Manning Stevens is director of the Native American Studies Program at Syracuse University. Kimberly Disney is the first Haub Fellow at the Tacoma Art Museum. Margaret E. Bullock is the curator of collections and special exhibitions at the Tacoma Art Museum.
