Although this husband/wife team use undocumented conversations and stories, and their chapters are brief, the style of this book is inviting and informative and will appeal to Wagner's many fans. It contains fascinating tidbits, such as Spencer Tracy's role as mentor in the early years. The portrait of RJ is a positive one: a pretty, rich, insecure boy who began as a contract player in the 1950s, who worked hard to become a successful film star, but who found that success as a mature, suave star and producer on television. He also worked at the roles of husband and father, especially the latter after the death of his wife, Natalie Wood. Rebecca Sturm, Northern Kentucky Univ. Lib., Highland Heights
