What is SHUSHYBYE?: Shushybye is the land way above the clouds where dreams are made. Living in Shushybye villages such as Nap Valley and Snore Shore, the Shushies (led by Snoozles, Dozie, and Zeez) make dreams for children then place them in Shushybye Dream Boxes, which are sent to sleeping children via the Shushybye Train driven by Conductor McCloud. In order to get their dreams each night, children have to go to sleep on time for the arrival of the Shushybye Train - when Mommy and Daddy tell them to! The book & CD: Every night, parents can read the storybook and listen together to the wondrous (and critically-acclaimed!) original SHUSHYBYE rock ‘n roll songs and lullabies on the SHUSHYBYE CD.

About the Author:
Steve Syatt founded the SSA Public Relations firm which was responsible for launching children’s brand successes such as Berenstein Bears: The Animated Series, Pokemon, and Bob the Builder to name just a few. Fifteen years ago he began writing bedtime stories and songs about the "Shushies," who live in "Shushyland" and make the dreams kids dream at night. His son and daughter were both the inspiration and testing ground for his ideas. Frank Caruso is Vice President of Creative at King Features Syndicate where he is involved with the development of new King Features licensing properties, and supervises all creative aspects of the company's internet, animation, and promotional activities. He oversees the creative supervision for the licensing of Betty Boop, Popeye, Mutts and other classic King Features comic properties worldwide.
From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-K—This book and CD by Steve Syatt addresses the frustrations many families encounter when it's time for their children to go to bed. The main characters, a young brother and sister, have trouble falling asleep until they realize that they can't visit the land of Shushy and meet their imaginary friends there until they go to sleep. The text is narrated well by a male voice, and three Shushybye songs provide a nice tie-in to the story. However, using the sound of the Shushybye train whistle as a page-turn signal will be jarring to little ones trying to fall asleep. Also, the book's illustrations by Frank Caruso are too busy and detailed for a bedtime story. Although this title is well intentioned, it misses the mark for its intended audience. Standards such as Beverly Cleary's Petey's Bedtime Story (HarperCollins, 1993) or Time for Bed (Gulliver Books, 1993) by Mem Fox better address the perpetual issue of helping children fall asleep.—Kirsten Martindale, formerly Menomonie Public Library, WI
