About the Authors
William J. Topich is chair of the Department of Social Science at Pulaski Academy, a college preparatory school in Little Rock, AR.
Frank W. Thackeray is a professor emeritus of history at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, USA. With John E. Findling, he is an editor for the Greenwood Histories of the Modern Nations series.

The work includes an informative time line, an excellent index, and a sound table of contents. This history manages to be readable, brisk, and an excellent source of information.
