About the Author

Professor Andrew McClurg holds the Herff Chair of Excellence in Law at the University of Memphis School of Law.  Previously he was a member of the founding faculty at the Florida International University College of Law and the Nadine H. Baum Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He's also taught at Wake Forest University, the University of Colorado, and Golden Gate University.McClurg has received numerous awards for both teaching and research. His seven books include 1L of a Ride: A Well-Traveled Professor's Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School (West 2d ed. 2013), assigned as required or recommended reading at many law schools, and The "Companion Text" to Law School: Understanding and Surviving Life with a Law Student (West 2012), written to prepare the loved ones of law students for law school. McClurg is also the author of dozens of scholarly articles that have been cited in more than 600 books, law journals, and judicial opinions.In a less serious vein, for four years he wrote a monthly humor column in the American Bar Association Journal, is the editor of Lawhaha.com, and author of The Law School Trip, a satire of legal education.As a legal expert, McClurg has been interviewed quoted by National Public Radio, Time, U.S. News and World Report, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and many other media outlets.
