Synopsis
A new edition of the `reigning classic' of orthopedic textbooks. Building on a 30 year tradition, this new edition will continue to be the essential reference for those seeking to understand the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system, its diseases, and its response to trauma. Louis Solomon, who was Alan Apley's co-author on the previous two editions, has been joined by two new co-authors to develop and extend this foundation and produce a thoroughly modern textbook of orthopedic surgery. The book has been brought completely up-to-date and extended to cover current orthopedic practice. Many new illustrations have been added and the new easy-to-read page layout now features color throughout. As in previous editions, the book is divided into three sections: General Orthopedics, Regional Orthopedics, and Fractures and Joint Injuries. Information is provided on pathophysiology, biology and molecular genetics as well as on general principles, diagnosis and management.
