After 11 years, Monica Fletcher has realized that the secret she has kept from Daniel Rourke needs to be revealed. And when he just happens to return to their hometown for an autograph signing, Monica is waiting. More than a decade has passed since Daniel left, searching for his big break as a reporter. He left Monica -- and their hometown -- in the dust. Once he knows her secret, will he fight for a second chance? Will he stay with his hometown girl or try to transplant her? It will take more than just empty promises to make a relationship between a city boy and a hometown girl last forever. Ms. Hatcher has done a commendable job in swapping formats to create a shorter novel. Her previous work always had me sighing after the last page was turned. The tension created between Daniel and Monica as a result of his job is exceptional. As a journalist, I can attest to the 'rush' that comes with a hot story. Ms. Hatcher is a gifted writer with many more stories to tell. Amy Wilson -- Copyright © 030199 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times
