Review:

Stephanie Sergant is in for a big surprise when she inherits her great-aunt's Natchez mansion. The old home is already inhabited . . . by ghosts. Two ghosts in particular implore Stephanie, known by her family as Mrs. Fix-it, to help them. One is a lady who is mourning a man she loved, and the other is great-aunt Magnolia herself. Stephanie is compelled to travel back to 1878 Natchez to take charge of the lives of five young children, their governess, and their devastatingly charming and widowed father, Andre Goddard. Stephanie believes that her mission is to bring together Andre with Ebbie, his late wife's cousin and the children's governess. While Andre believes his mission is to seduce the beautiful newcomer to his household. Waltz in Time makes the heart skip and dance to the characters' lively repartee and caring. It is heartwarming to see how Stephanie takes the Goddard family under her wing. Stephanie aptly describes Andre Goddard as a charming scamp who is out to seduce every woman in the county. He will certainly seduce the reader's heart into speeding up. Ms. Riley has once again penned a fabulous tale with forceful and endearing characters. Much praise to Ms. Riley and her fertile imagination for bringing us yet again a beautiful and enchanting story! Ms. Riley's creates such strong willed women, and men who can make these women respect and love them. This book lives up to the promise of her fine standard of writing.Gloria Lower -- Copyright © 1994-97 Literary Times, Inc. All rights reserved -- From Literary Times
