This book has many library markings and most are marked withdrawn. Even the dust jacket spine has a library marking however the jacket is in pretty good condition. Beginning with the most famous of all the carnivores, the Venus Flytrap, a plant equipped with tiny trigger hairs that activate a trap operated by water pressure in the plant's cells, Allan Swenson goes on to tell-about the care of these plants and describes the various apparatus .that they use to stalk their prey: sundews, whose sticky, glistening tentacles entrap bugs; pitcher plants that lure their prey into their open mouths, and butterworts, which catch insects with their flypaper leaves.
