A mysterious message that Larry receives while playing a computer game leads the Galaxy Gang to an exciting adventure

Grade 5-8 Larry, known to the other computer buffs on his electronic game network as "Mr. Chips," is playing a game against a hacker known only as Peter Pan when he receives the message, "I'm scared. Help me." Peter Pan's transmission is abruptly cut off, and Larry recruits his friends, the Galaxy Gang, to find out what happened. As in the Gang's previous adventures (e.g., The Computer Caper Delacorte, 1983), the emphasis is on fast and furious action rather than characterization, and the dialogue is filled with the kind of teenage wisecracking that young readers love to imitate. The plot is short on logic and long on coincidence, but fans of the series won't object. Elaine E. Knight, Lincoln Elementary Schools, Ill.
