McWilliams ( Penny Stocks , LJ 5/1/82) gives sound advice for the financially unsophisticated young professional in this welcome book. He covers important concepts such as the "time value" of money and makes otherwise abstruse notions comprehensible. He provides an excellent chapter on comparing fixed and adjustable-rate mortgages, and another explaining securities markets. Though McWilliams disclaims being a financial planner, his advice is prudent, making this a very worthwhile book. Joseph Barth, U.S. Military Academy Lib., West Point, N.Y.
