Do you love good food? Love to eat? Want the taste of great cooking without the fat or the worry of eating the wrong kinds of foods? Based on the principles of The T-Factor Diet, the book that has created a revolution in the way we eat and think about food, this cookbook opens up an exciting new range of international cooking that will delight your family and friends.

You do not have to be on a diet to enjoy the benefits of this book, but each recipe lists total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, calories, sodium, and fiber content, so that the meals you prepare may be keyed into any stage of a diet or maintenance program. In addition to main dishes and ideas for entertaining, there are many tips on cooking for one person, eating out, and meals to take to work. And the dishes are easy to prepare.

The Katahns love good food, and they love to cook. They will show you how to prepare fabulous meals―like Sesame-Ginger Lamb Chops or Triple Cheese Manicotti―that combine low fat and low salt with lots of fruits, vegetables, and complex carbohydrates. The recipes in this book meet all the guidelines set forth by the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society for reducing the dietary risk of disease.

About the Author:
Martin Katahn, PhD, is professor of psychology emeritus at Vanderbilt University. He was the director of the Vanderbilt University Weight Management Program. He has maintained a weight loss of 75 pounds for more than forty years. His #1 best-selling books include The Rotation Diet, The T-Factor Diet, and The Low-Fat Supermarket Shopper's Guide (with Jamie Pope). He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
From Publishers Weekly:
People who must lower their fat content for health reasons have to approach food, eating and exercise in a new way; yet coming up with interesting low-fat meals can be a challenge. The Katahns ( The T-Factor Diet ) here compile recipes to cover virtually any eating situation. In each of the recipes, the total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, calorie, sodium and fiber content are cited, so that no matter what your dietary concerns, you can tailor a meal to fit them. Also included are chapters on meatless meals and tofu. The Katahns acknowledge that most people don't have the time for lengthy preparation, which is why they have tried to keep the recipes simple. The recipes are well written and easy to follow, even for the inexperienced. The authors have also tried to show mercy by providing some low-fat recipes for such things as Kahlua chocolate cheesecake and triple cheese manicotti. But most recipes emphasize vegetables, fruit, complex carbohydrates and seasonings in place of fatty foods. Commercially available low-fat dairy products and egg substitutes are also used. For those who must change their dietary habits, this is a very good place to start learning how. Advice on organizing and stocking the kitchen is provided, along with information on the role of exercise in weight loss. Illustrations not seen by PW. 60,000 first printing; author tour.
