Jupiter Jones wasn't the type to believe in legendary curses or evil spirits.

As leader of The Three Investigators, Jupiter prided himself on his logical mind.  So he was very calm when he examined the mummy that Professor Yarborough had brought back from Egypt.  That dreadful ancient curse--death to anyone who disturbed the mummy's rest--didn't bother him at all.

That is, it didn't bother him until he looked up at the professor's butler.  The butler's eyes had suddenly widened in alarm.

"Look out, sir," he yelled.  "Look out!"

The butler hurled himself at the professor as a huge statue of the Egyptian jackal god came crashing down upon them!
