PreS A boatload of animals gets ready for bed in this slightly expanded version of a board book, The Going to Bed Book (S. & S., 1982). Boynton's greeting card characters are comfortably familiar and whimsical but her style has become repetitious. Animal antics in preparation for bed include taking a bath, brushing teeth, exercising and listening to a song sung by two rabbits. The story is told in rhyme which, like the song (for which music is provided), is forced. Each page contains only a few words, and pictures and text size are large enough for story time use, but most libraries would do better with additional copies of Brown's Goodnight, Moon (Harper, 1947).
