Illustrated with loose, bright art, this is an important book for families on the move, displaying both the worries and the excitement children experience when their home is being sold.

A slight picture book, divided into four chapters. Vivid, nervous cartoons show the family's jittery excitement as they load the van and move into what the children, Meg and Jack, agree is, "the best new house . . . in the world." The text is more of an essay on moving than a well-plotted story. Meg, the youngest, knows the least about what's involved in having a "For Sale" sign on one's house and has an anxious moment or two when she fears the buyers will purchase her teddy bear or that she'll be packed into the van. That's about it. A pedestrian story, somewhat redeemed by delightfully silly drawings. --Anna Biagioni Hart, Sherwood Regional Library, Alexandria, VA
