From School Library Journal:

PreSchool-Grade 2 A story about bedtime routine that children will enjoy. Little mouse Sam doesn't like missing all the fun that his brothers and sisters have after he's in bed. Since everyone knows that Sam can't sleep without his blanket, one night he hides it under his pillow and asks his brother Paul to help him look for it. More siblings get into the act as Sam moves the blanket from one hiding place to another, getting lots of extra playtime in the process. When mother comes in and remarks that now it may be too late for cocoa and toast, the blanket miraculously reappears. After a bedtime snack, everyone pitches in to help clean up Sam's room, and he goes contentedly off to bed. Watercolors in soft pastels show cozy interiors and rather odd micefully clothed, with tails, but with human arms and legs. Sam's blanket appears in each picture, hidden well enough to make the hunt enjoyable for older children, and younger ones will have no trouble spotting it after the first reading. Find My Blanket is a warm family story that will hold its own with such old favorites as John Burningham's The Blanket (Crowell, 1976) and Geraldine's Blanket (Greenwillow, 1984) by Holly Keller. From Publishers Weekly:

Everyone in his family knows that Sam Mouse can't sleep without his blanket, but they don't know that he feels left out when he has to go to bed before they do. So he instigates a little harmless mischief by hiding the blanket, then asking for help finding it. The entire family gets involved, eventually forgetting the hunt and instead playing with Sam and his toys. Even though readers are in on the plot, the suspense of this cozy mystery builds, until the mice's wise and loving mother reminds them that unless they find that blanket soon, there won't be any time for cocoa and toast before bedtime. The artist humorously shifts the perspective of her pictures from head-on shots to an aerial view of the scramble; Sam "finds" his blanket and settles down to enjoy an evening snack with the older kids. Brady's first book reveals her sure hand for storytelling and an understanding of the waysof children. Her snug watercolors shape each scene, from Sam's first lonely moments to his joy in seeing his plans successfully unfold. Ages 3-5.
