Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. This is a comprehensive guide not only to flower arrangement but to the growth of flowers and shrubs that will provide variety of shape and colouring for flower decoration throughout the year. The book begins with a lively chapter on the development of flower arrangement in this country and its dependence on the history of gardening. The author then describes flower arrangements for the various seasons. The next section deals with roses, special favourites of the author. A particularly useful section on foliage follows, with emphasis on the technique of arrangement and the use of foliage. She shows how mid-winter can provide its own striking arrangements by using evergreens and winter-flowering shrubs. Colour plates of seventy-two of the author's flower arrangements are included. The second part of the book is devoted to a plant list with descriptions, notes on the cultivation and use in decoration of two hundred plants, each one is illustrated with a black and white photograph. Illustrated. Slight wear and tear to D/J. Price clipped. Seller Inventory # 026326
