From Library Journal:
In this book, physically disabled women will find realistic, encouraging, and informative advice on handling the responsiblity of child-rearing. Disabilities covered are arthritis, amputations, asthma, cerebral palsy, diabetes, epilepsy, hearing and visual impairments, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, scoliosis, spina bifida, and spinal cord injuries. Practical advice for understanding and choosing support services is helpful, and, despite the British emphasis, North American sources are well documented. The author reviews each handicap, its specific physical limitation, and commonly used medications. Infant care is equally well examined. This is one of the few books written on the topic; along with Anne Simmons Finger's Past Due: A Story of Disability, Pregnancy, and Birth (Seal Pr., 1990), it should be considered for purchase by public libraries..
