Neo-Piagetian Theories of Cognitive Development is unique in representing most of the neo-Piagetian theories which try to preserve the strengths of Piaget's theory while eliminating its weaknesses. The chapters are organized in three the first part presents a general model of cognitive development and discusses its implications for different aspects of education; the second part is devoted to learning and cognitive acceleration; part three highlights teaching methods that would improve the acquisition of particular skills in specific areas.

Andreas Demetriou is Professor of Developmental Psychology at the Aristolian University of Thessaloniki; Michael Shayer is Lecturer in Psychology at King's College, University of London; Anastasia Efklides is Professor of Psychology at the Aristolian University of Thessaloniki.
