About the Author
Seymour Martin Lipset is Hazel Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University and Munro Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Stanford University. He is former president of the American Political Science Association and of the American Sociological Association. He is the author of over 20 books and nearly 400 articles.
