9780425260722: Read It and Weep (A Library Lover's Mystery)

William Shakespeare is credited with inventing how many words?*

Answering Shakespeare trivia comes with the job description for library director Lindsey Norris. But when the Briar Creek Community Theater mounts their newest production of the Bard, she has no intention of leaving the stacks for the stage. Unfortunately a villain is waiting in the wings...

Former Broadway actress Violet La Rue is holding auditions for A Midsummer Night’s Dream—and everyone from the sour spinster librarian Ms. Cole to Lindsey’s youthful library pages are trying out for parts. Brought in to play the mischievous Puck is the flirtatious professional actor Robbie Vine, who seems to have eyes for Lindsey. Before her blush has faded, the Bard’s dream turns into a nightmare—when one of the cast is poisoned. Now Lindsey and her crafternooners must take center stage to unmask the culprit before the final curtain call...

About the Author:

The hardest decision Jenn McKinlay ever had to make was what to major in during college. Then she discovered the sanctuary of the library and library science—a major that allowed her to study all the subjects. She loves working as a librarian. After all, what other occupation allows you to research the ethnobotanical properties of agave, perform a puppet show for twenty wiggly toddlers, and try to answer why the rabbit’s foot is considered lucky all in the same day? Jenn is the author of the Cupcake Bakery Mysteries and the Hat Shop Mysteries and lives in Scottsdale, Arizona, in a house that is overrun with books, pets, kids, and her husband’s guitars.

Review:

Praise for the New York Times bestselling Library Lover’s Mystery series:

“Terrific...intelligent, fun, and lively.”—Miranda James, New York Times bestselling author of the Cat in the Stacks Mysteries

“A sparkling setting, lovely characters, books, knitting and chowder! What more could any reader ask?”— Lorna Barrett, New York Times bestselling author

“Fast-paced and fun.”— Kate Carlisle, New York Times bestselling author of the Bibliophile Mysteries

“With a remote coastal setting as memorable as Manderley and a kind-hearted, loyal librarian as the novel’s heroine, Books Can Be Deceiving is sure to charm cozy readers everywhere."— Ellery Adams, author of the Books By the Bay mysteries

“What a great read!...McKinlay has been a librarian, and her snappy storyline, fun characters, and young library director with backbone make for a winning formula.”—Library Journal
