Ana grew up in Castilla, in the countryside. She has a large family - three sisters, a brother and fifty-two cousins, most of whom grew up together. She went to a convent which she didn't particularly enjoy and then on to Salamanca University which she loved. There she studied art and met her husband. After their degrees they came over to the UK to learn English and to their surprise they are still here five years later. Her husband is a teacher of modern languages. She loves travelling, walking and the sun. From School Library Journal:
PreSchool-This slight picture book may please adults looking for "not-so-scary" stories for the very youngest listeners. Like many children, Woo, a friendly looking young ghost, is tired of being told what to do. He decides to run away but discovers that the unfamiliar daytime world is a frightening place. His troubles are relatively minor. He is chased by a dog and mistaken for a sheet by a farmer who proceeds to wash and iron him. The predictable circular nature of Woo's adventure is balanced by unusual touches, such as the farmer's gender and her comically down-to-earth approach to seeing one of her sheets apparently being pulled by her pet. Larra-aga's brightly colored artwork looks like a combination of paper collage and paint. Simple, stylized pictures are often outlined in black, giving them added energy and definition. Despite the use of colored pages, the crisp text is easy to read. Woo won't satisfy those children hungry for horror, but he'd be the perfect pal for Robert Bright's "Georgie" (Scholastic).
