WHO CAN KNOW ALL THE PASSION, ALL THE PAIN A WOMAN CAN FEEL IN HER HEART?
Once she was the international jet set's most glittering cover girl. Casting herself into an ecstatic whirl of love affairs, fueled by the most potent pleasure drugs an era of abandon had to offer, young Stevie Knight emerged as a rare survivor of her generation's dizzying, often devastating fast lane--only because she was a woman who was as strong as she was beautiful.
Today, America's richest and most glamorous women come to Stevie and the haven she's established in the New Mexico desert, known to the world as the Oasis. There, with Stevie's help, they struggle to repair shattered lives and overcome dangerous addictions, whether to drugs, alcohol, fame--or men.
But even as she changes the lives of others, Stevie must face her own greatest challenge--the claims of her boundlessly giving, yet perilously uncertain heart. For she's fallen in love, filled with a passion truer than any she's ever known before--with a man asking for a commitment her heart may be too proud to make.
