In this hilarious, romantic comedy, two twenty-something neighbors embark on a zany mission to meet the founder of Starbucks, and in doing so, find each other.

About the Author:

Caprice Crane is the daughter of TV "Moviestar" icon Tina Louise and cutting edge '60s talk show host Les Crane. She was the head writer at MTV for seven years before writing for various other networks such as ABC, The Disney Channel, Women's Entertainment, Metro Channel and Vh1. She's a graduate of NYU's film school and currently divides her time between New York and Los Angeles.

From Publishers Weekly:

This funny duet pairs two New York City 20-something neighbors: Heaven Albright, whose reversal in fortunes transforms her from über-PR exec to bumbling waitress, and Brady Gilbert, an aspiring music producer with problems navigating the bright lights of the big city. The story of their personal and professional travails unfolds in alternating chapters, appealingly narrated by zany Heaven and wry Brady. The two meet-cute downstairs at the deli, and even if the novel's arc is familiar (it's instantly obvious that Heaven and Brady's initial distaste for each other can never last), Crane's giddy, playful prose feels fresh. When Heaven inevitably gets fired from the restaurant, she joins Brady on a trip to Seattle, where he hopes for a face-to-face meeting with Starbucks founder Howard Schultz to pitch him an idea for Cinnamilk (the flavor left after you've eaten cinnamon cereal). The adventures that play out from New York to Seattle as the two pursue their idealistic dreams prove so much fun that a touch of predictability hardly matters. TV writer Crane heavily spices her debut with pop culture references from the '80s to the present day and keeps the story moving with snappy dialogue, a combo likely to entertain legions of (gum-popping) readers. Book Description Little, Brown Company, United States, 2006. Paperback. Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****. 26 year-old Heaven Albright is a failed PR-executive turned terrible waitress who hates her customers. 29-year old Brady Gilbert is a struggling independent music producer with no bands. But he does have dreams of striking it rich with his product idea, Cinnamilk - the delicious beverage that results from leaving cinnamon-flavoured cereal in the bowl too long. What do these people have in common? Not much - in fact, as neighbours in Manhattan, the two of them start out hating each other. Perhaps it s because Heaven has this annoying habit of opening Brady s mail, or walking into his apartment uninvited, or stealing his Victoria Secret catalogues. But when Heaven comes to Brady s rescue after an encounter with his psycho ex-girlfriend, the tide turns, and Brady and Heaven soon become an unlikely pair of friends. With Heaven s dog Strummer, the two go to Los Angeles, then Seattle, and home again on their quest to pitch Cinnamilk to Howard Schultz, the founder of Starbucks. Seller Inventory # APC9780446695725
