In Montana in 1883, a young Cherokee leaves home in a search for his father--a white man--who disappeared long ago, leaving no trace of his origins, and is presumed dead. The Cherokee is contacted by a group of men from Missouri claiming they knew his father...when they all robbed banks together. A large portion of their loot remains missing, and the outlaws believe the Cherokee knows where it is. He escapes from these men and resumes the search for his father through the western wilderness, trying to evade the greedy killers trailing him like a pack of hungry wolves....
