Covers the mathematical terminology for wave phenomena with emphasis on spatial frequency terms. The relationship between Fraunhofer diffraction by two-dimensional functions, the Fourier transform in 3-space and use of the convolution theorem are among the subjects discussed.
About the Author
RAYMOND G. WILSON is Associate Professor of Physics at Illinois Wesleyan University. He received his PhD from the Optical Sciences Center of the University of Arizona where his research involved the ionic polishing of fused silica.
