Organic Coatings, Third Edition is an unparalleledreference and text for organic coatings technology and its myriadapplications. It begins with discussions of key principles ofcoatings, then thoroughly explores raw materials, physicalconcepts, formulations, and applications. Scientists, engineers, and paint formulators all gain a deeper understanding of theprinciples underlying the technology and learn how to use theseprinciples in the development, production, and application oforganic coatings. The four authors, all leading industry experts, offer a unique approach to the topic that correlates the empiricaltechnology of coatings with the underlying science.
This Third Edition has been completely revised andupdated to reflect numerous changes in the field, including changesdriven by increasing pressure to lower VOC emissions, reduce energyrequirements, and eliminate potential health hazards from organiccoatings components. In addition, the authors have developed newmaterial to make the text more accessible for scientists andengineers first entering the field, as well as for students takingcoatings courses. At the same time, the hallmarks thatdistinguished the two previous editions have been retained, including:
