This book shows in detail the secret of how to take a wild horse and in six days have that horse shod and ridden and ready to be trained to go into whatever work is destined for it's future life. The method has been around for over 100 years. This is how hundreds of thousands of horses were 'broken' in New Zealand and Australia by the army to prepare them for action under extreme conditions in World War 1. It has stood the test of time! I started using this method in the 1950's after reading a book on the subject by Professor Litchwark which he had written in 1900! It's literally infallible if you follow the sequence of training as described for six consecutive days. I wrote my first book on the subject in 1960 and this is the sequel. It has much practical advice that I have gained over the years as a horse breaker and trainer, a successful Showjumping and Eventing rider and a Pony Club instructor. The equipment used is easy to find and cheap. The technique is totally practical and any confident rider can do it. It is safe and humane. I use ropes selectively to teach the horse that kicking and bucking just can't happen. Horses trained using this method never learn to buck. They are not lassoed and dragged up to a post. They are not ridden until they have stopped bucking. They are restrained and then taught quietly and gently to behave in all circumstances. Although I use the common term 'horse breaking', it is an inaccurate description and one I dislike. To 'break' a horse is to break it's spirit and ruin its potential. Not my way at all. The book also includes chapters on Basic Riding, Working Your Horse Down, Reschooling, Shoeing, Types of Bits, Sewing Leather, Useful Knots and Throwing a Horse. I am proud to be able to bring this thoroughly tested and proven method as described in my all new book, to you. I hope you have great success.
