"This manual is a must for supervisors of human service counseling internships. It is an excellent resource that provides breadth and depth to the intern's learning experience. This manual incorporates student reflections throughout that demonstrate empathy for the student intern. It also structures the dialogue between the student and the supervisor to enhance opportunities for guidance or intervention."
"The issues raised throughout the text are extremely representative of student experiences in the placements I have observed. The exercises and case studies included, which correspond to the topic areas, encourage students to reflect on relevant issues and challenge their views, attitudes and beliefs about the populations they serve and the organizational structures within which they work."
