Robert DiYanni, who has taught English and Humanities at Harvard, Pace, and the City University of New York, is Director of International Services at the College Board. He received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his Ph.D. from the City University of New York. A professor of English and Humanities at New York University, Dr. DiYanni has lectured and conducted workshops in the United States and abroad, especially in Europe and Asia. He has written and edited numerous textbooks, including OCCASIONS FOR WRITING (with Pat C. Hoy, II), THE MCGRAW-HILL BOOK OF POETRY, THE MCGRAW-HILL BOOK OF FICTION, THE SCRIBNER HANDBOOK FOR WRITERS (with Pat C. Hoy, II), WRITING ABOUT THE HUMANITIES, LITERATURE: AN INTRODUCTION, MODERN AMERICAN PROSE, and, among others MODERN AMERICAN POETS: THEIR VOICES AND VISIONS (a text to accompany the PBS television series).
