Eli Cantor was born in New York City, graduated from New York University and received his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He won early recognition with an OBrien short story award in 1941, and was honored along with D. H. Lawrence, William Faulkner, and Sean OCasey. He has worked at CBS and has served on the editorial staffs of Esquire and Coronet. He has published four novels and several short stories. He currently lives in Sarasota, Florida.
