Robin Gerster was Associate Professor of Australian Studies at the University of Tokyo from April 1996 to April 1998. He now teaches in the School of Literary, Visual and Cultural Studies at Monash University. He is the author of Seizures of Youth, Hotel Asia and the award-winning Big-noting,, and has published widely in newspapers and journals in both Australia and Japan.Review:
