Grade 3-5 A step-by-step plan for constructing a model airport, planes and ground vehicles from household paper supplies. The first page is an illustrated list of materials needed; quantities are not included. The facing page details general instructions, including safety reminders such as use of lead-free paint and a warning that "strong glue can be dangerous and should be avoided." Drawings are full-color, bright, clean and detailed. Supposedly, a child who cannot read should be able to follow each series of illustrations to complete the project, but in a few instances so much information is packed into the visual that it becomes overwhelming. Text is minimal, somewhat chatty and gives additional hints on perfecting the project. Creativity is encouraged in some respects: size of buildings, number of annexes, etc., are left up to readers, but where children could really be original, in the design of the passengers, the book instead recommends tracing the figures provided.
