This is my third (and I hope last) book on tax-exempt bonds. It's sub-title is A Handbook for Professionals.
I begin with an overview of the municipal bond market, followed by these sections:
1.) The issuers (the communities that borrow in the bond market).
2.) The bonds themselves -- how they are priced and rated.
3.) How the primary (new issue) market works.
4.) How the secondary (trading) market works.
5.) About the services -- the professionals, rating agencies, information providers, and insurers.
6.) The four types of investors -- individuals, institutions, unit trusts and funds.
7.) Regulation and arbitration.
I hope and sincerely believe readers will profit from and enjoy reading this book. Producing it has certainly been a labor of love -- of the bond business and also of writing. And if you don't find it useful, send it back and I'll refund half the price. What a deal!

My career in municipals has had three phases -- so far. After many years of active participation in trading, underwriting and administration, I have written three books on tax-exempts. (They do say write about what you know, don't they?)
The first, The Municipal Bond Market: Basics, after an overview of the market as a whole, deals with underwriting, selling, and buying from new issues.
The second, The Municipal Bond Investment Advisor, designed for individuals, describes bonds and tells about the four ways to invest in tax-exempts. Direct purchasing, through unit trusts and funds, and by delegating the decisions to others.
As mentioned above, I now serve as a consultant, and especially as an expert witness in tax-exempt cases. These are mostly in arbitration, but some are in the regular court system. If by any chance you have a problem in this area, you may ask your attorney to contact me at email@example.com.
'White's knowledge of tax-exempts is breathtaking... I've read them all and this the best book written on municipal bonds.'
'The Advisor takes the reader by the hand through the intricacies of the tax-free market.'
'It's an Odyssey through the mysteries of tax-exempts.'
'THE BEST BOOK WRITTEN ON MUNICIPALS'.
