A young woman discovers the reality of her husband’s continuing infidelity, and decides to pack a few belongings, along with her beloved Golden Retriever in a rented car and depart for New England. Ironically, as Suzanne Douglas tries to find a more meaningful life and escape her empty relationship, she soon finds herself in the heart of a murder investigation! Close friends with Detective “Bud” Clemsen, and sworn to secrecy about the investigation he is involved with, Suzanne is forced to contemplate whether she should reveal what she knows about the case or keep the secret of a so-called “friend” who has confided in her. Extraordinary and unexpected events cause Suzanne to make choices and take chances she never thought would be necessary, and where her journey ends is the book’s most unexpected surprise of all.
