This scorching sensual tale of love, betrayal, and revenge begins under the fireworks of Independence Day, 1953. Teenage siblings Jennifer and Tommy Kendal share a bond as explosive as the evening’s pyrotechnics—and complicity in a secret enterprise that will end one of their lives and haunt the other forever. What happens atop East Rock one fateful summer evening sets into motion a series of events that keeps Hell on East Rock throbbing across two continents and several decades.

Even as Jennifer struggles to regain her memories and her life, she grows into a stunning and successful advertising executive, conquering Rome, New York, and eventually the world—and leaving a trail of gasping suitors in her wake. At the same time, her wealthy parents cope with the fallout of their own dark secrets. Through it all, the denizens of that unforgettable “Hell” of East Rock haunt Jennifer’s waking hours as well as her dreams, threatening to upset the hard-won reality she has so carefully constructed.

What really happened on East Rock—and what did it mean? Jennifer knows she will never truly find peace until she can answer that question. And readers won’t be able to put down this mesmerizing fast-paced tale until they know the answer as well.

In Hell on East Rock, Patrick Mascola has constructed a vivid, sensual, and immensely satisfying work of love, suspense, and redemption.

About the Author:

Patrick Mascola has been called by Variety the Dean of South Florida’s Night Life, having spent over 50 years as a columnist and publisher in South Florida. He started his career writing local entertainment and celebrity profiles for the Scripps Howard-owned Hollywood Sun Tattler in 1954, soon becoming the paper’s Entertainment Editor and reviewing just about every major headline act, play, and movie in the South Florida area.

In 1969, he left the paper to take over as Public Relations Director for the elite Eden Roc Hotel, and, later, the Marco Polo. Soon after that, while serving as food critic for the Miami Beach Sun, Mascola began to publish his own entertainment and hospitality publications, including Town Topic, Leisure Times, Life Style, and, ultimately, the successful Around Town newspapers, incorporated in 1981 and still widely circulated.

Mascola is the author of many published stories. Hell on East Rock is his first novel. He lives in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he remains an active member of the community and one of its most successful entrepreneurs.
