About the Author:

Dr. Charles A. Corr has been teaching and writing in the field of death, dying, and bereavement since 1975. He is a prolific contributor to this field, having been author, co-author, or co-editor of 30 books and more than 100chapters and articles in professional journals. Dr. Corr's professional work has been recognized by awards from the Association for Death Education and Counseling, , Children's Hospice International, the Center for Death Education and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation.

The tone of the chapters is non-threatening and reassuring. The topic of death and dying is a difficult one that can heighten reader apprehension. The authors appear at ease with these topics and address issues directly without sensationalism or deception...There is a pleasant balance between presenting research findings and describing those experiences/feelings/thoughts that are more difficult to quantify.

The book offers broad, yet in-depth, coverage of relevant topics. Organization of topics is nicely sequenced. Examples are clear and relevant. A wide range of material is presented to illustrate chapter content (e.g., poetry, drawings, photographs, case histories).
