YOGA FOR FITNESS AND WELLNESS is designed for the basic Yoga course. In Chapter 1, we ask, "What is Yoga?" In Chapters 2 and 3, we explore the history and philosophy of Yoga, and then in Chapter 4, we focus on the theories of Hatha Yoga, which is the kind of Yoga upon which all modern exercise-focused Yoga systems are founded. The rest of the book explores the exercises of Yoga: breathing, stretching and strengthening exercises, relaxation and meditation. The overall goal of this text is that it, along with the Yoga class, will inspire students to include Yoga as one of the activities they can do to stay healthy for the rest of their lives!

"I love the mini stories. The checklist is wonderful for my particular university setting. Excellent relaxation section. All the poses are well defined and explained. The photos will make a wonderful contribution to the writings. I thought the book was very informative. I incorporate a number of sun salutations in all my classes, and always like good diagrams of the cycle."
"There are many clear and relevant examples that the students can relate to. There are excellent quotes form sages and scholars of Yoga science. The use of actual quotes from the author's students of their experience and the beneficial effects of the techniques will be very effective for student readers. The material is very appropriate and writing understandable."
"The author is obviously someone who loves yoga and enjoys teaching its principles and practices and wants to share this information with yoga students. I especially like the use of comments made by experts and students that introduce the chapters."
"The author knows his stuff and explains it thoroughly. The writing is very good and the author has organized the information in a very appealing way. Kudos to the author!"
"(The) Personal examples, (and) stories are very appealing."
