About the Author

James W. Kalat is a professor of psychology at North Carolina State University where he teaches Introduction to Psychology and Biological Psychology. Kalat received a B.A. degree from Duke University Summa Cum Laude and a Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Paul Rozin. He is the author of BIOLOGICAL PSYCHOLOGY, Eighth Edition (Wadsworth, 2004). In addition to textbooks, he has written journal articles on taste-aversion learning and on the teaching of psychology, among other topics.
