"Nothing is impossible," proclaims the author of Love Is Letting Go of Fear (Celestial Arts, 1979). In a dozen interviews with "ordinary people who did extraordinary things," Jampolsky explores the motivation behind some seemingly impossible tasks. His subjects include Lech Walesa; Fanny Ray, a Harlem neighborhood school worker; the surprisingly likable Ted Turner; and Henri Landwirth, a concentration camp survivor who brings children with severe illnesses to Disney World. Unlike those who equate achievement with riches, Jampolsky sees success as an action of the heart and gives starring roles to people who are not necessarily wealthy. He hammers home the themes that love triumphs, grief can be conquered, perseverance is the key, and miracles occur. The message is forthright and persuasive. Previewed in Prepub Alert, LJ 8/90.
