About the Author

Nancy O'Connor, Ph.D. is a retired Psychologist and nurse. She is the author of Letting Go With Love: The Grieving Process, How To Grow Up When You're Grown Up. How To Talk To Your Doctor, and Lottie's Lot. A book on the life of her Great grandparents and the seven children they raised. She has written a Musical called  IN THE YEAR 2323
 
Nancy O'Connor, Ph.D. was born in Detroit, Michigan. She worked in the field of nursing for 15 years. In 1971 she earned her B.S in Sociology followed by her M.S. (1973) and a Ph.D. (1975) in Developmental Psychology focusing on adult development and gerontology at the University of Oregon.
Dr. O'Connor has served on the faculties of the University of Oregon and the University of Arizona. She has been a clinical psychologist for community mental health programs and in private practice 23 years until her retirement in 1998.The last 12 years of her practice she was the Director of the Grief and Loss Center in Tucson, Arizona.
She has extensive experience as a seminar leader, workshop facilitator, teacher, trainer and lecturer. She has worked as a consultant to hospices, hospitals, schools, corporations, nursing homes, police departments and numerous private and public agencies both in the United States and abroad. She is the author of several articles and four books. Letting Go With Love: The Grieving Process is an international bestseller and has sold over 210,000 copies worldwide. How to Grow Up When You're Grown Up: Achieving Balance in Adulthood is holistic approach to adult development and How To Talk To Your Doctor is a lighthearted approach at improving communications between patients and doctors, encouraging patients to be more empowered and participate in their own health care.
