Ursula Kroeber Le Guin was born in 1929 in Berkeley, and lives in Portland, Oregon. As of 2014, she has published twenty-one novels, eleven volumes of short stories, four collections of essays, twelve books for children, six volumes of poetry, and four of translation, and has received many honors and awards, including the Hugo, Nebula, National Book Award, and PEN/Malamud. Her most recent publications are Finding My Elegy: New and Selected Poems and The Unreal and the Real: Selected Stories.

There is a spine lean. The page edges are browned with a few dark marks in places. Trace of a price in pencil to the top corner of the half-title page. Half-inch pink stain to the top corner of the final blank page. The pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. Price-clipped jacket has fading to the title lettering on the spine. Three closed tears each about three-quarters of an inch long - one at the base of the spine next to the rear panel and the other two at the top corners of the rear panel.
