A redemptive story of family, forgiveness, and the journey to self-acceptance.
"Our adopted angel"-that's what Danielle's adoptive parents called her. She grew up adored, doted on, unconditionally loved. It wasn't until she was in college that she first felt a gnawing curiosity about her roots. From time to time, she would wonder: Where did this face come from? Where did this body come from? Where did this blood come from? Her search to find her biological parents had begun -one full of surprises and revelations.
After reuniting with her birth mother-and uncovering the primal wound that lay deep within her-Danielle embarks on a twenty-year healing journey of self-discovery, reconciliation, and forgiveness.
At once a heartfelt memoir and a guide to self-awareness, Healing Tree offers a compassionate exploration of self, family, and what it means to be whole. Rooted in her twenty-year practice in Body & Brain holistic mind/body techniques, Danielle offers an approachable eight-step method for anyone wishing to heal from emotional or psychological wounds. This method invites readers to cultivate a loving relationship with their authentic selves and charts a pathway to inner peace.
For anyone who feels stuck, hurt, or rudderless in the sea of life, for anyone interested in doing the deep work of self-healing, becoming liberated, and realizing the potential to heal beyond themselves, Healing Tree is a source of direction, inspiration, and hope.

Danielle Gaudette has been writing poetry and short stories since she was six years old. She graduated from the University of Iowa where she continued her study of creative writing. Her Healing Tree blog can be found at daniellegaudette.com. After finding her True Self in 2000, she took time to explore her inner world and worked to help others do the same. As a twenty-year trainer and coach in Body & Brain principles and practices, she currently works in Seattle as the regional director of Washington Body & Brain Centers. She cares deeply about honesty, transparency, and making sure people feel safe, encouraged, and empowered to go within themselves to face their pain and hardships. She believes that in doing so they will be able to uncover the strength and wisdom to heal their inner wounds and create themselves anew. This is how she lives her life: she practices facing her own wounds and has found that, in doing so, she is brought closer to her True Self. She shares her story in Healing Tree to help others find the courage to go inward, the courage to heal their hearts. Her passion is to continue to awaken herself to the true principles of the universe and to help others awaken as well. She feels that with every person who chooses to do their own inner work, we are lifting off some collective heaviness, fear, resentment, and darkness, and we are brightening humanity-together.
