The Seventh Key is a five-part suspense short story. In order to test the intelligence and perseverance of his two nephews, Nicholas and Alan, the old Uncle Edward gave them a key separately in care of his lawyer before his death, and told them that the one who can get seven keys within one week will receive his inheritance. Alan and his girl friend persist in search the keys with pain-staking efforts and cleverness and found the seventh key in the end, Alan got the inheritance and married his girl friend happily. While Nicholas and his wife do not like to work hard for that and tried to use trick to find the keys, they got nothing as a result.
