Ted Jenner never dreams that he will find such cruelty awaiting him as he sets out for Camp Cherokee and becomes trapped in a sinister association with the abusive Jack Dunn

From School Library Journal:
Grade 6-10 Breaking Camp is a story about the misuse of power in the hands of teenagers. Fifteen-year-old Ted Jenner is looking forward to his first summer at riding camp in Pennsylvania. When he meets Lee, a returning camper, he realizes that camp may not be exactly what the director made it out to befocusing on excellence, discipline, Boy Scout traditions and fair play. Instead, as Ted puts it, "the wrong thing seems to have become the important thing." Jack Dunn, a fellow camper with a foul mouth, uses cruelty, mistrust and inappropriate traditions to dominate both campers and counselors. Ted refuses to accept this situation and spends his summer fighting back, finally winning with the help of new-found friends. The story is compelling in the action-packed narrative, but the characters are the usual stereotypes: Ted, tall, popular, guaranteed to succeed; Lee, bullied by everyone and totally inadequate, weak adults. This is just another young adult novelin no way outstanding. Constance Allen, Tabor Academy, Marion, Mass.

Book Description Tapa blanda. Condition: bien.
